2nd Grade Science

Students in second grade are using their reading, writing, art, and science skills to remember what they’ve learned about the parts of the plant. “We’re taking our science curriculum, which is already talking about a flower and all the parts of it. The standards in language arts are to know what captions and labels are, so we created our own diagram with our own captions and labels so we could cross the science curriculum right into our language arts standards,” explains second grade teacher Lisa Seitz. “I liked drawing the flower and making the labels,” said one student. “I learned that leaves take in sunlight and air,” said another while writing a label.
