FAFSA 2021

DDHS is offering free support to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on Tuesday, February 16, from 4 pm-8 pm at DDHS.  To be eligible for the free tuition program at Gateway Technical College, or colleges in the UW system, you must submit the FAFSA.  To be eligible for grants (free money), work-study, or student loans, you must submit the FAFSA.  To be eligible for some scholarships, you must also submit the FAFSA.  
If you need assistance to fill out a college application, you can receive help with that as well.  Students must speak with their school counselor to sign up for a time. Counselors will be assisting students and their families in our school building that evening, and participants must wear face masks.

Date:  Tuesday, Feb. 16
Location:  Front entrance of high school
Times:  4-8pm.  (See times below)
Times will be:  4:15pm, 5pm, 5:30pm, 6pm, 6:30pm or 7pm.  (Please pick a start time.)

Once a student has signed up for a time, they will need to bring the following items:

  • COMPUTER/LAPTOP

  • Cell Phone 

  • Parent(s) dates of birth

  • Month and year of parents’ marriage, divorce, or separation

  • EMAIL ADDRESS for Student and Parent(s). Emails must be different for the student and parents.

  • Social Security number/Alien Registration Card/Permanent Resident Card:  (If parent(s) do(es) not have SSN, they can enter in all zeros on the FAFSA. This information is not shared with any other institution and is only used for FAFSA purposes.)

  • 2019 Federal Tax Return and W2s   (For Student and Parent(s) if applicable.)

  • 2019 untaxed income records such as child support or veteran’s non-education benefits

  • Information on savings, investments, business assets, and farm assets(if applicable)
