Course Information:
This course generally covers the same topics as the first semester of Algebra 1. Topics covered include: proportions, percent word problems, percent change, unit conversion, average, representation of data, simple probability, counting techniques in probability, place value, pattern identification, function notation, factors, fractions, absolute value, and order of operations. The course focuses on the 400 level problems and extends into the 500 level problems from the ACT College Readiness Standards. A scientific calculator is required for this course (we recommend the TI30XIIS or graphing calculator TI84).
