The Delavan-Darien School District (DDSD) is proud to announce its recognition as one of
the Top 25 “Best Of” Social Media Winners for 2025 by Andrea Gribble and the #SocialSchool4edu team. The honor was announced during a virtual awards ceremony held on May 9, 2025, celebrating the most creative and impactful school social media content from across the nation.
Out of 392 submissions from over 43 states, DDSD was selected for Best Video Series Created by a Student for the heartwarming and wildly popular 9-week podcast series, “Little Voices, Big Fun with Mr. H.”
The series was a collaborative effort led by Grace Johnson, a DDHS senior and DDSD’s first-ever Youth Apprentice student, in partnership with Superintendent Drew Halbesma and Ashley Duchemin, DDSD’s Marketing & Communications Director. Featuring 18 of the district’s 4K and 5K Turtle Creek students, the podcast captured the wonder, imagination, and humor of our youngest learners as they tackled questions like:
“How do you think WiFi works?”
“What’s the secret to being rich?”
“What’s the purpose of broccoli?”
“If it was raining meatballs, would you eat them?”
The premiere episode debuted on March 5, 2025, receiving over 13,268 views and reaching more than 7,000 people. Each week, the series averaged nearly 9,000 views and reached over 5,300 people, quickly becoming a community favorite. Viewer feedback included:

“So stinkin’ cute!”
“I look forward to these videos every Wednesday.”
“I love these! Please keep this going!”
“We’re thrilled to be recognized on a national level for this creative and meaningful project,” said Duchemin. “Grace brought incredible vision and joy to the series. Thank you for sharing your talents and giving voice to our youngest learners in such a meaningful and positive way! While I will certainly miss seeing her shine at DDHS, I’m so excited for what’s ahead. After graduation, Grace is off to UW–Madison this fall to become a proud Bucky Badger.”
