Bridges Students Create Gingerbread Houses

The students in the Bridges Room at Darien Elementary built a gingerbread house. Each student built their own gingerbread house with the help of an adult. Part of the fun was test tasting the candy in order to see what candy each student wanted on their house. Some students had fun tasting the frosting as well. So how does this relate to learning? This was a sensory filled activity which involved sight, sound, smell, taste and touch! They watched a video that showed them how to build the house and then they followed the steps to do so. Thus, lots of new vocabulary, socialization and laughter ensued. A great time was had by all!
