musical notes

The Phoenix Middle School Band, Orchestras and Choirs certainly missed performing live for everyone this year.  But they all kept working hard to develop skills and improve their technique to be ready for wonderful things ahead.

Meanwhile, in lieu of Spring Concerts, the ensembles recorded some of their favorite tunes from the 2nd half of the year and would like to share them with you.

Mrs. Jennifer Bayerl and the Orchestras:

5th Grade Orchestra "Happy Hoedown"

6th Grade Orchestra "Simple Square Dance"

7th Grade Orchestra "Noble Dance"

8th Grade Orchestra "Noche de Estrellas"

Mr. Mark Butzow and the Bands:

5th Grade Band “Ode to Joy”

5th Grade Band “Hard Rock Blues”

6th Grade Band “School Spirit/On Wisconsin”

7th Grade Band “You’re a Grand Old Flag”

8th Grade Band “Declaration in Blue”

Ms. Julie Ropers-Rosendahl and the Choirs:

5th Grade Choir "Try Everything"

6th Grade Choir "Revolting Children"

7th Grade Choir "Count on Me"

8th Grade Choir "You Will Be Found"

The annual school musical also took on a video format this year with the show “Super Happy Awesome News”, directed by Ms. Ropers-Rosendahl and Ms. Timmerman.   Students had to not only be actors and singers--but also videographers!  We performed the show twice with two different casts.
