The Wisconsin School Music Association hosts Solo and Ensemble Festivals each Spring, but due to Covid19, festivals for 20-21 will be virtual. A benefit to virtual festivals is that the logistics allow for two festivals a year rather than just one. As a result, the DDHS String Choir took advantage of this year's Fall Solo & Ensemble Festival. The students prepared four movements from Bartok's Rumainian Folk Dances. They rehearsed before school each week and recorded socially distanced. The video was submitted to WSMA and the group just received their number "1" rating. Congratulations musicians!
Participants included: Caitlyn Karbash - violin soloist, Breanna Yartey - violin soloist, Collette Riviere - viola soloist, Hannia Nevarez Martinez & Kate Pehkonen - violin, Rebeca Manriguez & Aislinn Martinez - viola, and Hayden Vogt, Dakota Hanson & Isabel Calhoun - cello
