Student Council would like to thank those who helped the Delavan-Darien communities enjoy a great Homecoming!
Homecoming week started off with a big surprise that was sponsored by a number of local businesses with every student in the district receiving a free Comet shirt! Thank you to those who sponsored the shirts!
The Student Council Advisors and administration helped make the student requests become a reality for the Homecoming celebration. The district staff and students celebrated Homecoming by dressing up and showing up for the events throughout the week. The high school students enjoyed a fun assembly (along with the current 8th graders) and the Homecoming Dance had the highest attendance in at least four years.
Thanks to the DDHS Alumni for joining the parade, taking a tour of DDHS, and helping us pack
the stands at the football game! Thanks to the staff members who offered the tours. We hope
you enjoyed the weekend and we hope to see you next year.
The events of Homecoming week would not have been possible if the community didn’t help
out. Thanks to the Delavan Fire Department for helping us keep the bonfire a safe place for us
and thanks to Mr. Stark for bringing the music. Thanks to the Powerpuff and Boys Volleyball
participants from each grade and a special thanks to our referees and line judges. Thanks to all
the students, parents, athletes, community groups, and local businesses who created floats,
walked, or rode in the parade. Thanks to the VFW for leading our parade and to the entirety of
the community that came out and participated by cheering for everyone in the parade. We can’t
recall the last time the streets were lined with so many people!
We appreciate those who donated food for the pregame dinner and thanks to Taher for the early
morning prepping of the food. We officially opened the new stadium complex and celebrated
everyone coming together to watch the football game, listen to the band, and cheer with the
cheerleaders. The new concession stand and spirit stores were a hit and were busy all night.
Thanks to all the volunteers who helped on that busy night!
