TRENT HERNANDEZ Wins!!!

Congratulations to Delavan-Darien Senior, TRENT HERNANDEZ, for being crowned the CHAMPION at the 3rd Annual UW-Whitewater Midwest High School Pitch Competion.  Trent collaborated with his team of entrepreneurs; Teammate Lizzie Sirkman, Teammate Aiden Showalter, CTE Teacher Mike Rick, and Reichert Prosthetics Orthotics Business Professional Elizabeth Bianchi-Knod.

The team would like to recognize the inspiration for the activity, Mr. Henry Johnson Sr., who had recently lost a limb due to a medical condition.  Unfortunately, before the project could be completed, Henry Johnson Sr. passed away before seeing this project through to its' completion.  Today, however, we are sure Mr. Johnson is smiling down upon the team of inventors and entrepreneurs who are seeing this project through.

Upon completion of the competition, there were potential clients that may be looking to find investments and funding to see this project through, possibly taking it beyond concept to reality.

There were 58 original applicants, before being narrowed down to 7 finalist.  The 7 finalist presented before a panel of six judges at UW-Whitewater on February 27.  Upon deliberations, it was determined that Trent Hernandez's "pitch" was the champion.  Trent receives 1 year's worth of FREE TUITION to UW-Whitewater for his efforts today!  Congratulations to Trent and his team of entrepreneur's and inventors!

We are COMET PROUD!!!
