The Delavan-Darien Community will be hosting the ONLY World Singing Day Event in Wisconsin, on Saturday, October 19, from 11 AM until noon, in front of the Aram Public Library (414 E. Walworth Ave, Delavan). The even will occur rain or shine. Come out and join to celebrate our world.
What is World Singing Day? “World Singing Day is a global sing-along held annually on the 3rd Saturday in October. As a catalyst for positive human connection, this one day each year serves as an opportunity to celebrate our global family through the international language of music."
“Founded in 2012 by Colorado (USA) musician Scott Johnson, World Singing Day brings people together in their communities all around the world through the simple act of singing together. World Singing Day is a joyful community experience for musicians and non-musicians alike, from shower singers to celebrities, as they gather in their communities and sing together without the pressure of performing. World Singing Day is not a competition, and no rehearsals are required. Anyone can join in the fun.”
Our event will be video-taped and recorded, sent to the central organizers, and a musical montage will be created from all the participants throughout the world. Each city or country is listed as its singers are shown on the video. Here is a link to one of their montages: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Omfr-9Vt66I.
The theme song this year will be Till the Whole World Sings.
