The DDHS Symphonic Winds and Jazz Ensemble recently traveled to St. Louis & New Orleans during our Spring Break. Highlights of the trip included: attending a music clinic with John Miller, visiting the St. Louis Arch, touring the World War II Museum, taking a carriage tour of the French Quarter, sampling authentic foods of the region, visiting the Rock & Soul Museum and performing at the WorldStrides Onstage Music Festival.
Congratulations to the Symphonic Winds group for earning a bronze rating, and the Jazz Ensemble earning a silver rating in their respective divisions. Additional praise goes to Sean Seitz who won the Ovation Award as an outstanding soloist at the festival. Further congratulations goes to the entire group for earning the Spirit of New Orleans Award for their enthusiasm, positive attitudes, and exemplary conduct at the festival. The thirty-eight DDHS students were selected to receive this award from over nine hundred students attending the festival.
