Delavan-Darien School District Earns Three Spectrum Award for Excellence in School Communications
The Delavan-Darien School District was recently honored by the Wisconsin School Public Relations Association (WSPRA) with a Spectrum Award of Excellence (Best in Category) for its work in school communications.
WSPRA presented the Spectrum Awards at its annual conference held November 12-14, 2025. Ashley Duchemin, Marketing & Communications Director for the Delavan-Darien School District earned an Award of Excellence (Best in Category) for their 2024 Reach for the Stars Homecoming Campaign, an Award of Merit for its 2024 fall sports athletics poster marketing campaign and an Award of Merit for its DDSD Open Enrollment Video Series.

Spectrum Awards recognize high-quality school communication and engagement efforts by or on behalf of Wisconsin school districts. This year, this statewide competition honored nearly 100 school districts and CESAs with awards.
“Each year we are inspired by the thoughtful, strategic and heartfelt communication work happening across Wisconsin,” said Emily DeBaker, current WSPRA President and Chief of Staff for the Racine Unified School District . “These award-winning projects reflect a deep commitment to transparency, connection and community pride. We are grateful for the school PR professionals who work tirelessly to ensure families, staff and community members feel informed, supported and engaged.”
“Strong communication strengthens strong schools,” noted Debbie Brewster, WSPRA Executive Director. “This year’s award recipients demonstrate what’s possible when districts prioritize clarity, connection, and genuine community engagement. Their work makes a lasting difference in the lives of students and families.”
WSPRA’s Spectrum Awards were judged by over 50 members of other school public relations associations in many different states, from New York to California.
The Wisconsin School Public Relations Association (WSPRA) is a professional association representing schools, school districts, educational associations, consulting agencies and organizations.
WSPRA is a state affiliate of the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA). The mission of WSPRA is to expand the capacity of its members to provide effective communication management for the purpose of strengthening educational opportunities for all students.
