The Delavan-Darien School District is proud to announce that Ashley Duchemin, Marketing & Communications Director, has earned national recognition at the 2025 National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) Seminar, held July 20–23 in Washington, D.C. Duchemin received three prestigious awards that highlight her outstanding work in strategic communication, storytelling, and community engagement.
Ashley was honored with:
● Golden Achievement Award – 2024 Homecoming Campaign
● Award of Excellence – DD Tech & Youth Apprenticeship Video Series
● Award of Excellence – #CometNation 2024–2025 District Wall Calendar
These awards, among the most esteemed honors in school communications, recognize projects that demonstrate strategic planning, creativity, and measurable impact. Each submission was judged by experienced, accredited school PR professionals and evaluated on its effectiveness and excellence, not against other entries, but against nationally recognized standards of best practice.
“Ashley is a one-person powerhouse behind all of our district’s communication efforts,” said Drew Halbesma, Superintendent of the Delavan-Darien School District. “Ashley’s work reflects an exceptional level of creativity, professionalism, and passion for public education.” Her ability to build trust with families and strengthen our brand across the region has been transformational. These awards are a testament to her talent, leadership, and deep commitment to our schools. We are extremely fortunate to have her representing Delavan-Darien on a national level.”
From concept to execution, Duchemin leads every aspect of the district’s communication strategy. Her award-winning Homecoming campaign unified students, staff, alumni, and community partners in a districtwide celebration of pride and tradition. Her video series highlighted the impact of the district’s youth apprenticeship and DD Tech programs, and her redesigned district calendar provided families with a visually compelling, informative resource for the school year.
Duchemin’s efforts have helped elevate the voice of the district, celebrating student achievement, staff excellence, and community partnerships.
“This recognition is not just about the work, it’s about the people and purpose behind it,” said Duchemin. “I’m incredibly honored to represent our schools on a national level, and I’m grateful for the support from our students, staff, families, and business and industry partners who make our work in education meaningful every day. Being a team of one means I rely on strong relationships across our schools and partners to bring these stories to life.”
As the Delavan-Darien School District looks ahead to the 2025–2026 school year, Duchemin remains committed to strengthening community connections and partnerships, supporting student success, amplifying student voices and continuing to tell the stories that make #CometNation shine.
