Our community is dependent on our schools. Likewise, our schools depend on our community.
We are fortunate to have strong support from the city and town of Delavan, the village and town of Darien, and surrounding areas.
Community members and organizations donate thousands of dollars annually toward scholarships and athletics. We have more than 100 R.E.A.D.S. Program volunteers who spend time reading with elementary school children. Turtle Creek has a “Watch DOGS” program (Dads of Great Students) where male become role models for our kids by being in our schools. We work with Big Brothers Big Sisters to have a “lunch buddies” program where adults pair up with a buddy for lunch, games, reading and more. Parents volunteer as members of the Delavan-Darien Athletics Booster Club, they’re on our schools’ Teacher-Parent Organization and Parent Advisory Council groups, and they give countless hours helping out at school functions, from field trips to musicals and plays.
If you’d like to volunteer and help out the Delavan-Darien School District, we’d love to hear from you. Contact a building principal or front office staff to learn more about ways you can be a volunteer in our district.
