Suspect Joseph Jakubowski was captured by police in rural western Wisconsin during the early morning hours of Friday, April 14.

Delavan-Darien Families,

As of 9:40 p.m., Delavan-Darien schools will be open tomorrow, Friday, April 7, but, we will be in a general or soft lockdown situation again as a precautionary measure. As of 9:30 p.m., Thursday, police have still not confirmed finding a Janesville man who is alleged to have stolen guns in Janesville, and made a non-specific threat against schools.

Again, school is on for Friday, April 7, but we will be in a general or soft lockdown situation until further notice. Only students and staff will be allowed in and out of the buildings. All doors will remain secure and we expect to have increased police patrols in and around our school buildings.

All in-town, after-school activities, games and practices, are canceled for Friday. The scheduled DDHS baseball and softball games in Mauston will go on as planned.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Delavan police at 262-728-6311. Further details about this situation can be found on our website, www.ddschools.org. We will continue to post updates as information becomes known.

Thank you.
