Santa’s Elves from the Delavan-Darien High School Future Business Leaders of America organization and Spanish IV classes visited Wileman and Turtle Creek students on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 18-19, to read the letters Santa wrote back to the elementary students in preschool, kindergarten and first grade.

Earlier this month, each student in those elementary grades wrote a letter to Santa. School staff sent those letters to Santa’s address at the North Pole. Turns out, he replied to each one! Some were even in written Spanish!

It was up to the DDHS Elves to track down the students at their schools and read Santa’s replies! Spanish IV students helped read Santa’s Spanish letters to students in the Dual Language Immersion Program, who wrote their North Pole-bound letters in Spanish!

The event is a tradition 40-plus years in the making, with now-retired DDHS Business Education Teacher Sandy Thiele starting letter reading activity after using her incredible connections to Mr. Claus!

What a magical time of year for our students, young and old!

We wanted to share with you some photos from that day. See our ONLINE GALLERY!
