This is a year long course that requires selection of both semesters: S1 and S2. Potential college credit. This course is geared towards students interested in pursuing the rigor of AP Studio Art and/or those who want to pursue a career in a related field. More advanced photography and alternative approaches to photography will be emphasized in this course during the first semester, including continued experience in the darkroom and alternative processes in photography.
In the second semester, students determine their own work based on a specific focus of their choosing. Students may choose to explore other 2-dimensional mediums such as graphic design, drawing, and multi-media during the second semester, or they may continue to pursue more within the medium of photography. Students will have the option of submitting portfolio work for review by the College Board for potential college credit. If the student chooses not to submit a portfolio they will still receive advanced credit. No matter the medium, students will strive to show mastery of quality, design in concept, composition, and execution.
