Award-winning educator Dr. Jill Sorbie is not even three weeks into her new job as the Delavan-Darien School District’s new director of curriculum and instruction. Yet, she’s already making headlines.

“I am excited to come up and learn and take in as much information as I can,” she told the paper. “I am thrilled to join the team.”

Sorbie is a team player and is interested in strengthening and building new connections between the school district and its community partners, including businesses, civic groups, churches, municipalities and community leaders.

  • Awards: Georgia Teacher of the Year for 2007-08 and Outstanding Elementary School Social Studies Teacher for 2009
