The 2017-18 Pre-School/Kindergarten Enrollment Day for new incoming 4-year-old kindergarten and 5-year-old kindergarten students (*those who were not already enrolled in our 4-year-old kindergarten program*) is set for Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at Wileman Elementary School, 1001 E. Geneva St., Delavan

Session times are:

  • 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Parents should come with their children during these times. Appointments are not necessary.

New incoming 4-year-old and 5-year-old kindergarten students will be screened for their developmental skills as well as sight and hearing. Those identified with special educational needs may undergo further screening and assessment at the event.

In addition to enrolling your child(ren) for the upcoming 2017-18 school year, information about the following will also be available at Enrollment Day:

Online Enrollment (in advance)

Parents are encouraged to enroll their students online in advance using the appropriate links below. If parents enroll online in advance, they must still attend Enrollment Day with their 4-year-old or 5-year-old child(ren) to provide the materials listed below (see “What to Bring“) and to have their child(ren) screened.

On-Site Enrollment (day of)

Parents who do not enroll online ahead of time will have access to computer workstations to enroll their child using our online system during Enrollment Day. Staff will be available to assist with the online enrollment process.

Language Assistance

Spanish-language interpreters will also be present to assist with the enrollment process. Those needing American Sign Language interpretation should call and request an interpreter: 262-233-6764.

If you are a parent/guardian of an existing Delavan-Darien student, you can login to the parent portal with the email you previously provided the district and your existing parent portal password. This option is also for parents/guardians who have an existing student and are enrolling/registering a new student (for example, a 4-year-old kindergarten student who is a younger sibling of an already enrolled and continuing student).

Username/Password recovery: If you have forgotten your username or password you can retrieve this information from the parent portal by selecting the appropriate links on the login page. If you need help, contact a school’s main office: 262-233-6800.

Email recovery: If you have forgotten your email, please visit your student’s school. You will need to present a valid photo ID to retrieve this information. If you need help, contact a school’s main office: 262-233-6800.

Important Notice:

To ensure the district has the most up-to-date and accurate information regarding emergency information, the following student data will need to be completely re-entered annually:

  • Emergency Contact information
  • Health Services and Physician information
  • Medical and Mental Health conditions information

After you register online, please complete and provide the following forms to your child’s school within 30 days of the start of the school year:

When to visit our Enrollment/Registration Days:

Parents of new incoming 4-year-old and 5-year-old kindergarten students can complete their registration entirely online. We encourage you to do this prior to coming to our Enrollment Day event. Even if you complete online enrollment, parents and their 4K or 5K student(s) must come to an Enrollment Day event to:

  • Verify you’ve completed the registration process;
  • Have their child(ren) screened for vision, hearing and cognitive development;
  • Pay school fees if you don’t want to pay online (*summer enrollments only);
  • Pay past-due school fees for older siblings;
  • Have questions answered about things such as:
    • transportation,
    • school lunch program (including free/reduced lunch applications),
    • Parent/Teacher Organizations,
    • Before-school/after-school childcare options,
    • Dual Language Education Program
    • Etc.

Online Enrollment - For NEW students and families

This link is for parents/guardians enrolling a new student into the Delavan-Darien School District. If you have students attending the already (an older sibling for example) you would NOT use this tab. Use the “continuing students” menu above.

*STOP: This link is NOT for registering continuing/existing students. If you are registering a continuing or existing Delavan-Darien student and you have forgotten your portal login, call your student’s main office: 262-233-6800.*

After filling out the information online, your student’s enrollment is not complete until you do the following:

  1. Attend one of our Enrollment Day events, or;
  2. Call the school your student will be attending and schedule a registration appointment. Your appointment should occur prior to September 1st.

At our enrollment/registration event or your appointment, parents/guardians of new students must provide the following:

  • Proof of residency (i.e. current utility or cable bill, lease agreement, tax bill, etc.)
  • Child’s original Birth Certificate or Passport
  • Valid Parent/Guardian Photo ID
  • Proof of Parentage/Guardianship (i.e. child’s birth certificate with parent name, legal papers, etc.)
  • Child’s Immunization Records
    • (If your child was immunized in the State of Wisconsin you do not need to provide Immunizations records. Our district nurse can obtain these from the Wisconsin Immunization Registry.)

Student Enrollment Ages

All children who are four years old on or before September 1, and live in the Delavan-Darien School District are eligible to participate in the 4-Year-Old Kindergarten Program, which is housed at Wileman Elementary School.

Similarly, our 5-year-old Kindergarten program students must be age 5 by September 1. All 5-year-old kindergarten sections are also housed at Wileman Elementary.

Enrollment Dates

The 2017-18 Enrollment Day is set for 8-11 a.m. and 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at Wileman Elementary School. Students and parents/guardians should attend.

If you would like to enroll your child and cannot make it on Enrollment Day, please stop by Wieman Elementary School main office, located at: 1001 E. Geneva St., Delavan, Wisconsin. The office staff there can get you started with enrolling your child(ren) and answer any questions you may have.

What to Bring

Parents/Guardians should bring:

  • your newly incoming 4-year-old or 5-year-old kindergarten student(s);
  • child’s birth certificate or passport;
  • proof of residency (utility bill, leas agreement, mortgage payment);
  • valid parent/guardian photo identification (driver’s license, state ID card);
  • child’s immunization record;
  • emergency contacts (names and phone numbers).

Enrollment Fees

School fees are not due until registration in August. Parents/guardians do not need to pay anything at Enrollment Day.

Transportation

Representatives from Dousman Transportation will be available to answer questions about our bus routes for Wileman Elementary School. However, since we won’t have all students enrolled and registered until summer, specific route information such as drop-off and pick-up times may not be available.
