Delavan-Darien Foundation — Bequeath a Gift

Charitable gifts made through a will are 100 percent tax deductible. After providing for loved ones, you may choose to make a gift to the Delavan-Darien Foundation. Additionally, the Foundation can be a designated beneficiary. Your attorney can revise your will or make a simple amendment using the example language we’ve provided below.

CHARITABLE REMAINDER TRUSTS

Assets (typically securities) are transferred to a trustee, with income paid annually to one or more individuals for a set period of time, or for life. At the end of this irrevocable arrangement, the assets are a gift to the Delavan-Darien Foundation.

CHARITABLE LEAD TRUSTS

This is a flexible plan in which assets are transferred to a trust that pays income to one or more charitable recipients. At a fixed date or at the time of death, the assets are transferred to others named by the donor.

DONATING CASH, SECURITIES, REAL ESTATE, OR PERSONAL PROPERTY

Cash, securities, real estate or personal property can be conveyed to the Delavan-Darien Foundation through a simple and inexpensive amendment to your will. Please keep in mind that tax laws and your own needs may change. You should always consult with your own attorney, accountant or advisors for the legal and tax implications before making a major charitable contribution.
