ATTENTION STUDENTS: Sadie’s Dance & Possible Snow-Storm

The District will be closely monitoring the predicted snow-storm this weekend.  If conditions appear unsafe, we will cancel the Sadie’s Dance and inform the community via our website and an all-call to high school families.  Until then, the dance is still on.

Update for Students that are Tardy to School: We have experienced a significant amount of students being tardy to school, walking in late with various excuses.  The fact remains that Wisconsin State Statute 118.15 “requires school attendance of a child ages six (6) to eighteen (18).” It further states, “A student will be considered a habitual truant if s/he is absent from school without an acceptable excuse for part or all of five (5) or more days on which school is held during a school semester. Consequently, the state law allows us the liberty to cite (ticket) a student that reaches five or more days of truancy or for five or more days of tardiness.  We will issue truancy tickets if you have more than five days marked tardy for first period.  A truancy ticket carries a fine of $500 plus court costs and requires a mandatory court appearance with a parent/guardian.  The school district can also issue a truant ticket for $114 on any day that any student chooses to walk out of the building, refuses to come to school, or continues to have issues with getting to school and/or classes on time. Additionally, after consulting with other high schools in the conference, if a student walks in late with a beverage or meal, the food and beverage items are confiscated and will be returned at the end of the day.  Essentially, if a student has the time to stop at Dunkin’ Donuts, they have the time to get to school on time.  Please be aware and do not walk in late with food or beverages or they will be confiscated.
