About Dr. Halberg:
Sara Halberg joined the Delavan-Darien School District in the summer of 2012 as the district’s director of pupil services/special education.
She holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Edgewood College and a master’s degree in Audiology and Speech Sciences from Michigan State University. She received her bachelor’s from MSU in the same area.
Prior to joining the Delavan-Darien team of administrators, Halberg was a speech pathologist program support teacher for the Madison Metropolitan School District for 12 years. As the program support teacher, Halberg oversaw special education professional development, team building and Response to Intervention initiatives.
She also spent time working with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as the Assistant Director of Title I and School Support.
Before getting into the field of education, Halberg was the Director of Speech Language Pathology and Assistant Director of Rehabilitation at the Middleton Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
“I enjoy working in a smaller district that has a diverse student population. The Delavan-Darien community has made me feel very welcome,” Halberg said.
Halberg and her husband Rich have three children, Tim, Emily and Spencer. She enjoys boating, running, gardening and entertaining family and friends.
