Ready, Set, Go: Child Development Screenings

The Delavan-Darien School District is holding free Child Development Screenings for area children age 0-4 on Wednesday, Jan. 31. Screenings will be held from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and again from 2-5 p.m. at Wileman Elementary School, 1001 E. Geneva St., Delavan. Walk-in appointments are available during those hours.

Shopko Foundation Awards $1,500 in Grants for Phy Ed

Thanks goes out to Shopko for awarding a $1,000 grant and two $500 grants to support our Phy Ed courses! The grants were submitted by Sandee Ortiz, Shelly Misco, and Tom Kanoff and were awarded recently for DDHS and Turtle Creek.

Delavan-Darien Authorizes $3.5 Million Operating Referendum for April 3 Ballot

On January 8, the Delavan-Darien Board of Education unanimously authorized an operating referendum for community vote.  If approved, the April 3 referendum would provide $500,000 per year for three years (2018/19 - 2020/21) for academic and vocational classroom improvements, upgrades for culinary arts and auto programs, and improvements to Borg Memorial Stadium including artificial turf for football and soccer; and $3 million per year on a recurring basis (2018/19 and thereafter), for operating costs to maintain the District’s current educational programs.
