Garcia nabs huge scholarship to USC

If you're a college-bound, soon-to-be Delavan-Darien High School graduate, there's probably no better news to receive than what Jesus Garcia found in his email mailbox yesterday. the DDHS Senior was awarded the University of Southern California Trustee Scholarship, a full-tuition award worth more than $200,000 over eight semesters.

The DDHS team performed admirably and advisor Nick Marsh said he is #DDCometProud of or our students' efforts. "They represented our school well," he said. "They conducted themselves with all the tenants of the Comet Code and we should all be very proud of them."

Band Trivia Night 2017 is March 31

The Delavan-Darien High School Bands will be hosting another trivia night on Friday, March 31.The event will take place at 116 Walworth in downtown Delavan (formerly Brick Street Market restaurant).Doors open at 6 p.m. for live jazz, and food and drink will be available for purchase provided by Patty's Deli. Trivia starts at 7 p.m.The cost is $10 per person, and competitors may have up to 6 people at their table. Come out for a fun night of trivia to support the DDHS band programs!

Next community swim team meeting is March 27

The next meeting regarding the start-up of a new Delavan-Darien Community Swim Team will be held on Monday, March 27, at the Delavan-Darien High School Library, 150 Cummings St., Delavan. Parents interested in the community swim team idea are encouraged to attend and complete a short survey about the team. Click link for more details.

Two Delavan-Darien Youth Wrestlers will compete at state

Good luck to our Delavan-Darien Youth Wrestlers, Jacob Huff and Owen Chelminiak, who have advanced to the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation Youth State Tournament. They will compete at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison on this Friday March 24th and Saturday March 25th. #DDCometProud

DD Destination ImagiNation sending four teams to 2017 State!

#DDCometProud Moment: Once again, the Delavan-Darien School District Destination ImagiNation teams had a fantastic showing at the regional DI tournament held in Lake Geneva Saturday, March 18, 2017. Four of the teams will be advancing to the State Tournament on April 8th at UW-Stevens Point. Collectively, the teams had three firsts and two second-place finishes.
