BIG NEWS coming for Delavan-Darien Fab Labs!

IMAGE: WI Fab Lab Day LogoStay tuned to our website and social media outlets tomorrow, Tuesday, April 25, for a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT concerning our awesome Fab Lab opportunities in our schools! Lets just say it’s “Fab Lab Day” tomorrow in Wisconsin and we’re glad we’re a part of the movement to bring more technology education to our students!

The Fab Labs are essentially creative “maker spaces” where students can study, design and create a myriad of things using state-of-the art tools and equipment, including 3-D printers, laser engravers, vinyl cutters, metal benders, CNC mills and more! They focus on teaching STEM courses — Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

The Fab Labs help support classes like Engineering Design and Development, which earlier this school year had students showing off their work in a college setting at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Technology teacher Mike Fellin and Business teacher Kris Slawson took the EDD students to MSOE so they could present their real-life project: designing a stand-up, “in-the-water” table that they’re improving for Williams Bay inventor Bob Kleber.
