Job Description: Delavan-Darien High School has a full-time position to be filled by a school counselor. The position is responsible for successfully interacting with pupils, parents, professional educators, employers, and community support systems such as juvenile justice, public health, and human services. Career options articulation in technical schools and universities. Other duties as assigned. The successful candidate must possess individual and group counseling skills, demonstrate the ability to use a wide range of evidence-based strategies, and provide a comprehensive transition program for students entering into high school as well as those graduating to the post secondary options. The individual must possess a strong work ethic and the desire to work well as a part of a collaborative team. Must have a genuine concern to help each student achieve success. Effective oral and written communication skills with students, parents and staff are essential. Spanish speaking skills are a plus. Experience in working with at-risk populations, testing, running student groups, and student leadership programs would be beneficial qualities for candidates desiring the position. Position: Dual Immersion Bi-Lingual Coordinator

Primary Purpose: Coordinate the program for Bilingual and ESL students. Collaborate with district staff and external personnel to provide the best educational opportunities for all students. This coordinator is responsible for everything related to the bi-lingual program and the success of bi-lingual students and teachers.
1. Implement procedures to identify bilingual students at all grade levels. Include appropriate reviews of student data and testing of students.
2. Implement bilingual curriculum according to state standards and Common Core concepts.
3. Collaborate strongly with bilingual teachers to provide the best curriculum, learning opportunities for students to be successful.
4. Develop, arrange for and lead staff development sessions to continually provide for the critical alterations to enhance maximal learning for our
students.
5. Continually evaluate and update bilingual, ESL programs for maximal opportunities and success.
6. Provide proper materials and resources.
7. Consult with parents, teachers, counselors, administrators and community agencies to enhance opportunities and improve our program.
8. Plan and conduct parent meetings with staff.
9. Serve as the district contact for the Dual – Immersion Bilingual Program
10. Plan for and analyze all bilingual tests with bilingual department staff.
11. Control and plan the bilingual budget
12. Explore appropriate grants
13. Evaluate all bilingual/ESL staff
14. Collaborate with the Director of Instruction and Director of Pupil Services.
Must care about the improvement of all children and strive to meet the needs of each. Must communicate well with all parents. Proven administrative experience and Spanish communication skills are required. Candidates for this position must possess appropriate certification in Wisconsin.

Primary Purpose: Overall student management including student conduct and attendance, including a strong desire to help every student be successful. Other administrative needs and purposes may also be assigned.

Manage student supervision issues and enforce school behavioral/attendance expectations.

Counsel students and parents about school and district policies.

Assists staff and parents in developing student behavioral/attendance expectations.

Assist in the planning, developing and implementing of individual student behavior plans.

Serve as a resource to staff in dealing with classroom management issues.

Assist in developing programs to promote positive student behavior as well as intervention strategies.

Confers appropriate consequences for behavior including detention, in school suspension and out of school suspension.

Develop appropriate drug and alcohol intervention and interdiction strategies.

Assist in monitoring student prevention and retention staff.

Assist in monitoring and supervision of school facilities.

Provide supervision at extra-curricular and athletic events.

Qualifications:

Must be teacher and/or administrator certified

Three years successful teaching or prior job related experience with increasing levels of responsibilities in a school setting.
Must be able to manage students and programs, communicate effectively, problem solve, sensitive to student needs and ability to interact respectfully. Must have knowledge of discipline procedures, education code and district policies. Ability to provide direction to others and make independent judgments, keep and maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, communicate with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds and communicate in oral and written form.
