The Delavan-Darien School District serves the communities in the Delavan-Darien area. We have five schools—Delavan-Darien High School, Phoenix Middle School, Darien Elementary School, Turtle Creek Elementary School and Wileman Elementary School. Together, the five schools educate about 2,600 students annually.
We Believe:
- Students are our priority.
- Everyone can learn.
- People learn in different ways and at different rates.
- High achievement comes from high expectations.
- Learning is a life-long process.
- Each person is unique, has inherent worth, and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
- Every person has the right to learn and grow in an emotionally and physically safe environment.
- Education begins with the family and extends to include the school and community as a shared commitment.
- Education has intrinsic value, which helps to create literate, ethical, productive and contributing citizens.
- We must provide and maintain a staff dedicated and committed to students and the mission of the district.
- It is important to know how to learn as well as to obtain specific knowledge and skills.
- Education is a dynamic process, which responds to the ever-changing needs of students and society.
- Individuals learn best when they are actively involved and when information is relevant and integrated.
- Evaluations of progress toward our district mission must be varied and outgoing.
