Deborah Maki became Wileman's principal in July 2011. She spent the previous two years as principal of Turtle Creek Elementary School. She came to the Delavan-Darien School District in 1995 as the principal of Phoenix Middle School. Prior to that, she was an assistant principal in the Neenah Joint School District. Maki began her 30-plus year career in education as a German teacher in Manitowoc.
In 1978, Maki received Bachelors degrees in German and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She was the recipient of a Fulbright Teacher Grant and studied at the Goethe Institut in Passau, Germany, in 1981. Maki received her Master’s in Administrative Leadership and Supervision in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1992. Maki is an avid reader and has volunteered as a reading mentor. She understands that reading is key for student success in school, and is very proud to be working with teachers and community volunteers who are helping students learn to read.

Hannah Barry started her first teaching job at Wileman Elementary School in 2011. Earlier that year, she graduated from Edgewood College, where she earned degrees in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. She also played basketball.
“I love teaching because of the relationships that are build throughout the year and the challenge of each different day.”
Barry is the girl’s junior varsity basketball coach at DDHS. She likes baking, reading and watching the Brewers, Badgers and Packers.

Amy Bauer is a fifth grade teacher at Wileman Elementary School. Bauer graduated from Concordia University in December 2000 with Bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education 1-9 and Music. Bauer has a Master’s degree in K-12 Technology Integration. She completed this program in 2004 through Nova Southeastern University. Bauer started at the district in 2002, when she was hired to teach sixth grade Science and Social Studies at Phoenix Middle School. In 2009, she was transferred to Wileman Elementary, where she currently teaches fifth grade.

Jackie Belken-Pecor is a registered nurse serving all five schools in the district. She started here in 2004. She is responsible for ensuring that students' health needs are met during the school day.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1984 with the honor of Outstanding Senior. While in college, she served on the Academic Standing Committee for the College of Nursing and was a cheerleader. Her career has taken her to jobs in Texas, Tennessee, Maryland and Wisconsin. Belken-Pecor has always enjoyed school nursing and is proud to be the school nurse for the Delavan-Darien School District.

Donna Berg came to the Delavan-Darien School District in 2002. She has taught music at Turtle Creek, Darien, Wileman and Phoenix. Before coming to the Delavan-Darien School District, she worked with professional singers and dancers on many stages in schools, theaters and theme parks. She spent 10 years at Disneyland in California where she sang, danced and directed many of the talented entertainers there. Her 30-plus years of educational and show business experiences make her a lively and enthusiastic part of the staff and make her classes fun.
An Illinois native, Berg received her Bachelor’s in Music Education from Indiana University. Berg has a passion for music and the performing arts and hopes to provide a safe place for the children of Delavan and Darien to discover their talents and learn how to let their lights shine.

Laura Brellenthin began her teaching career in January of 2002. She spent the first seven-plus years teaching sixth grade Language Arts at Phoenix Middle School. Then she transferred to Wileman Elementary School where she teaches fifth grade. Brellenthin attended UW-Oshkosh, where she received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. In 2005, she earned her master’s degree from NOVA Southeastern University.
Brellenthin thoroughly enjoys teaching and loves the challenge of helping every student reach their full potential in the classroom. She likes incorporating hands-on activities and small group or partner work to help students find their best way to learn. Although she enjoys teaching every subject, reading has always been her passion. It is one of her goals to help every student develop a love of reading that they can then carry throughout their lives.

Laurie Campbell brought a wealth of experience to the Delavan-Darien School District when she started in 2011. Campbell, a reading specialist at Wileman Elementary, spent three years as a learning support teacher for the School District of Janesville, and the previous 14 years as a K-5 classroom teacher.
“I love to work with students who need a little extra help mastering reading. I enjoy assisting teachers in implementing new reading instruction techniques.”
Campbell earned her bachelors degree in elementary education from Crown College in 1994. She has master’s degrees in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University and as a Reading Specialist from UW-Whitewater. She loves to read, ride motorcycles with her husband and snorkel.

Pamela Clark received her Bachelor’s degree from UW-Whitewater in Elementary Education N–3 in 1987. She joined the Delavan-Darien School District in 2000 as a 4-year-old kindergarten teacher at Darien Elementary, where she worked for five years. She then transferred to Wileman Elementary School where she taught 4K for one more year. Clark now teaches all-day 5-year-old kindergarten at Wileman. Before coming to work in Delavan, Clark taught first grade in Walworth for five years and was a substitute teacher for seven years while her three sons were young.
Clark has her 316 Reading Teacher License and received her Master's degree in Reading from Concordia University in Mequon in 2011.
Clark is also very active as a parent in the Delavan-Darien School District, where she is an accompanist for the Phoenix and DDHS bands, and also a member of the Band Boosters. She volunteers at her sons’ schools whenever possible and is often found in the audience at music and sporting events.

Stephanie Coby started with the Delavan-Darien School District in 2009 as a kindergarten teacher at Wileman Elementary School. She graduated in December of 2007 with a degree in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Some of her goals are to go back to school to continue learning, providing a learning-enriched environment for her students, and to live each day to the fullest. She enjoys working at the Delavan-Darien School District, and feels a supportive staff has been able to help her in her growth as a teacher.

Ariana Cruz became a 4-year-old and 5-year-old kindergarten aide at Wileman Elementary in 2012.
She is a 2012 graduate of Delavan-Darien High School and attended Delavan-Darien Schools for her entire 4K-12 education.
Cruz spent the spring and summer following her graduation babysitting and helping a 4-year-old girl learn Spanish.
Cruz is an avid soccer player, enjoys exercising and spending time with family and friends.

Victoria Decker started at Phoenix Middle School in August of 1995. She started part-time as a study hall supervisor. She has an Early Child Care teacher assistant certificate and was grandfathered into the district with a certificate as a teacher aide. She has been involved with Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and teaching religion classes. Her position became full-time and she assisted at many levels at Phoenix. In 2007, she transferred to Wileman Elementary School as a Clerical Aide/Teacher Aide, and she loves it.

Initially hired as a classroom aide, Ettner’s current responsibilities divide her day into time spent in the classroom, as well as time spent on clerical duties and data entry. Coming from an accounting and bookkeeping background, Ettner finds the blend of office work combined with enjoying instructional time spent with the children a perfect fit.

Kristi Flood teaches second grade at Wileman Elementary. She received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration degree with a major in Marketing and a Spanish minor in 1983. She started subbing in 1995 for the Delavan-Darien School district while completing her Master’s in Teaching through the National-Louis University. Upon completion of her master’s in June 2004, she taught first grade at Darien Elementary and then moved to Wileman in 2007, where she taught first grade for one year. In 2008, she started teaching second grade at Wileman and is still teaching there today.
In her spare time Flood enjoys reading, traveling, attending sporting events and spending time with her husband Pat and three daughters, Sarah, Kate and Courtney. Her philosophy on teaching is “ALL students can be successful and it is her job to find out how to make that success happen for each child.”

She began her teaching career in Delavan at Wileman Elementary in 1998. She taught kindergarten at Wileman for eight years before switching to first grade in 2005. In 2010, Garlock completed her Master’s degree in Elementary Education, with a specialization in Reading and Mathematics, from Walden University.

Doreen Grams began teaching Physical Education in the Delavan-Darien School District in 1985. She received her undergraduate degree in Physical Education/Health from UW-La Crosse. In 2000, Grams received her Master's degree in Teaching from Aurora University. She enjoys attending conferences and workshops to keep current in the profession. She has coached volleyball, basketball and softball in the district. Grams believes that physical activity is an important component of every person’s life.

Julie Huff is a classroom aide at Wileman Elementary School. She started working at Wileman in 2007. Previous to that, she was a substitute aide for the Delavan-Darien School District for six years. She lives on a small dairy farm with her husband in Sharon.
In the spring of 1999, she moved the dairy operation along with her husband and three boys to Sharon from Wonder Lake, Ill. She grew up and lived on a dairy farm in Illinois. During this time, she was a farm wife and dental assistant for many years. She decided to try a different part-time job when she moved to Wisconsin.
She enjoys helping kids learn, sporting events, reading and doing things with family and friends.

Sandy Huff is the Library Media Center aide at Wileman Elementary School. She began her association with the Delavan-Darien School District as an elementary classroom aide substitute during the 1993-94 school year. She was then hired as a classroom aide at Wileman Elementary in January of 2002. During her time at Wileman, Huff spent the 2007-08 school year as the health aide. She began her position as the LMC aide at the beginning of the 2008-2009 school year. Prior to relocating to Wisconsin in 1993, Huff was a classroom/office aide at James C. Bush Elementary School in Northern Illinois. She enjoys helping her husband on their dairy farm, but also loves spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Since reading is her favorite hobby, the LMC is the perfect place for Huff. She enjoys helping the students discover great books they have never read. The staff and students at Wileman make it a great place to work and learn.

Heather Jedlicka began as an aid at Turtle Creek Elementary in 2010. She moved over to Wileman Elementary School in 2011. She is a 1999 graduate of Delavan-Darien High School and has two daughters who are now in the school district.
In 2001, Jedlicka graduated from M.A.T.C with a cosmetology licence. She plans on continuing her education so that she may continue to progress with her knowledge of working with children.
Jedlicka loves working with children. She says she can learn just as much from them as they do from her. She also feels the reward of seeing what she has helped the kids achieve is way more than anyone can imagine... priceless.

Lisa Jones began her career as a teacher at Phoenix Middle School in 1983. In 1984, she accepted a position to teach third grade at Wileman Elementary School. She has happily remained at Wileman for her entire career. Jones graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1982 and earned her Master’s in Education from Aurora University in 2000. In 1999, Jones was honored to receive the National Educator’s Award from the Milken Family Foundation.
Jones is a strong advocate for public education. As a classroom teacher, Jones helps her students develop strong communication and problem-solving skills while practicing self-discipline. She believes it is her job to open doors for students to see the opportunities that exist beyond the world in which they live. Outside of the classroom, Jones has helped to develop a comprehensive district-wide staff development program and many versions of curriculum and assessments for classroom use.

Katie Kopp started working as a School Counselor in the district in August of 2004. The primary role of the School Counselor is to help meet the academic, personal, social and emotional needs of all students and their families. She earned her Master’s degree in Educational Psychology in May of 2004 from UW-Whitewater. Prior to earning her master’s, Kopp worked as a therapist, providing in home intervention to children on the Autism Spectrum.
Kopp truly enjoys the work she does with students at the elementary level because she has the opportunity to help remove barriers to learning each day.

Deb Lange is the head custodian at Wileman Elementary. She started her career with the district in 1982, subbing in the food service and custodial departments. In 1984, Lange went to full time as a custodian at Darien Elementary. In her time since, she has transferred between Wileman and Darien elementary schools. She was the head custodian at Darien Elementary from 1993 until 2000, when she transferred back to Wileman Elementary School as the head custodian, the position she holds today.

Christine Lopez works in the kitchen at Wileman Elementary School. She started full-time with the district in 2010. In 2009, Lopez was a kitchen substitute and a teacher's aide substitute at Wileman. She is very pleased to be working as a member of the Wileman kitchen team.Lopez has four children, two of which are currently students here at Wileman. She enjoys helping out in the classrooms with crafts, activities, field trips or even just baking muffins for a morning snack.
Lopez has been a member of the Wileman Parent Advisory Committee since 2008 and last year volunteered to be the "cookie lady" at the school on Wednesdays selling cookies for the WPAC after lunch. Lopez says she will probably be known now as the "apron lady" because she loves to sew and create fun new aprons to wear in the kitchen.

Debra Maly began her career in the Delavan-Darien School District in 1995 as a teacher’s aide at Turtle Creek Elementary. She was there one semester, before being hired in the Wileman Elementary library, which she enjoyed for five years. In 2001, she became Wileman’s Administrative Assistant to the Principal. She enjoys the hustle, bustle and variety of working in the school’s office.
Maly was born in Wisconsin, but moved to Colorado in 1975, where she earned a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University. She was also employed as a dental assistant there for a number of years before entering college.

Shawn Marse is the R.E.A.D.S. Coordinator at Wileman Elementary. She came to the district in 2001 at her current position. The R.E.A.D.S. Program is an acronym for Reading Enrichment and Developmental Success. It is a one-on-one reading program using volunteers as mentors to assist students who need additional help in reading. She is responsible for recruiting as many as 24 community volunteers to commit to this worthwhile program. She guides and gives help to the mentors and students throughout the year. This program means a great deal to Marse because it allows her to meet and form lasting friendships with the volunteers as well as helping the students become better readers.

Tom May began his teaching career at the middle school level and came to the Delavan-Darien School District in 2001. He currently teaches all orchestra and band students at Darien, Turtle Creek and Wileman elementary schools. His goal is to nurture and develop the musical abilities of each participating student through challenging and enjoyable experiences in music. May feels fortunate to teach in a district that highly values the arts and finds his work of helping students through the beginning stages of playing an instrument to be a very rewarding experience.
May received his undergraduate degree in Music Education from UW-Whitewater in 2000. In 2004, he also received a Master’s degree in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. In addition to teaching, May also remains active as an accompanist for solo and ensemble events and as an adjudicator for area piano festivals.

Jennifer Mielke started with the district as a bilingual teacher in 2010. She graduated from Carthage College in 2005 with degrees in Elementary Education and Spanish and a minor in secondary education. Mielke also has a master's degree in ESL/Bilingual from UW-Whitewater (2010 graduate).
Mielke said she loves being able to work with students in order to help them grow both academically and socially.

Lynn Mork started with the Delavan-Darien School District in 2010. Mork works as a special education teacher at Darien Elementary School and Turtle Creek Elementary School.
Mork has more than 15 years of special education teaching experience. She was a teacher in Milwaukee for eight years before joining the Delavan-Darien staff. She enjoys working with diverse learners and helping children to realize their full potential.
When she's not teaching, you can find Mork cheering on her own children and their teammates at sporting events, or at her family's cabin "up North."

Kori Pehkonen is the School Psychologist and a School Counselor at Wileman Elementary School. Pehkonen has worked for the Delavan-Darien School District since 1995. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Purdue University and her Master’s in Education at UW-Whitewater. She belongs to the Wisconsin School Psychology Association and to the National Association of School Psychologists. She enjoys working as a team with parents and teachers to best meet students’ academic, social, and mental health needs.

Alison Person, M.S. CCC-SLP, is a Speech and Language Pathologist for the Delavan-Darien School District. She came to the district in 2003 and is responsible for evaluating and treating children with language and/or articulation disorders. Prior to her position in the Delavan-Darien School District, she worked as a Speech and Language Pathologist in the Clinton School District.
A 1995 graduate of Delavan-Darien High School, Person received her Bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1999 and her Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2001. She is enthusiastic about supporting and empowering children with special needs and is thankful to be able to give back to the community in which she was raised.

Courtney Peyer is a first grade teacher at Wileman Elementary School, a school she once attended. Peyer also attended Phoenix Middle School and graduated from Delavan-Darien High School. Peyer earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, certified Pre-Kindergarten through Sixth Grade, from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Peyer started teaching first grade at Darien Elementary School in 1999. During that time, she earned her Master’s degree in Elementary Education in 2001 from Aurora University. In 2002, Peyer transferred to Wileman Elementary School and continues to teach first grade. She enjoys teaching, reading and loves to see the growth the students make throughout the year. She is proud to be teaching in the same district that she attended as a child.

Kari Pfeil came to the Delavan-Darien School District in 1992. She works at Wileman as a second grade teacher. Hard work, dedication, high expectations, and communication with students and parents are all priorities in Pfeil’s teaching. She hopes that everyone who leaves her classroom has gained knowledge, respect, and knowing that they had a teacher who cared. Pfeil believes the Delavan-Darien School District gives students many excellent opportunities to learn and in all different ways.
Pfeil was born and raised in Williams Bay. She attended the Williams Bay schools and earned her undergraduate degree from Carroll College in Waukesha in 1991. She is currently working toward earning a Master’s degree in Library/Media from UW-Whitewater.

She was a line tharapist for one year with the Wisconsin Early Autism Project and spent six years as a special education aide with the East Troy School District prior to coming to Delavan-Darien. "I love working with children and watching them grow. It's a rewarding job."
As for her pasttimes, "I love to go fishing, camping, hiking and anything else outdoors. I also spend a lot of time with my two children."

Dedra Strohkirch was a family counselor in Waukesha before she started with the Delavan-Darien School District in 2012.
She has a Master's degree in Special Education from George Williams College and has worked for the Wisconsin Early Autism Project and the Childhood Autism Treatment Team.
"I enjoy the connections i make with students. It's one of the best gifts to see a child learn and understand something for the first time."
Strohkirch also enjoys painting, photography, drawing, traveling, hiking, fishing, camping, astronomy, and environmental issues and awareness.

Terri Timmerman is the art teacher at both Wileman and Darien elementary schools. She began teaching at the Delavan-Darien School District in 2003. Prior to that, Timmerman taught eight years at Lakewood School in Twin Lakes, Wis. She also spent two years teaching in Lake Geneva. Timmerman received her Bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Viterbo College in 1993. She is also certified in Adaptive Education. She received her Master’s of Education degree from Aurora University in 2001. Timmerman continues taking classes to learn new techniques in both art and teaching.
Timmerman was a featured art teacher on an instructional flyer presented at the National Art Education Association. In 2008, Timmerman won a grant that allowed her to expand her unit on Dale Chihuly, a glass artist, with visuals and materials. Timmerman enjoys opening students up to new concepts and ideas then challenging them to use their creativity to expand on what they have learned and seen. She believes that the arts are basic to our lives and is a great way to enhance and continue learning in every aspect of our lives.

Stefanie Vollmer joined the Wileman Elementary School staff in 2012 as the school's 4-year-old kindergarten teacher. She has degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Early Childhood Education, English as a Second Language and American Sign Language.
She has teaching experience from the Milwaukee Public School District (4K, first grade, English as a Second Language for 5K, first grade and second grade, American Sign Language for second and third grade). "I love working with children and watching them grow. The Delavan-Darien School District is such a loving, caring place to work. I am excited to work with my colleagues to better our students' education."
In addition to teaching, Vollmer is a dancer, specializing in tap and ballet. She enjoys kneeboarding, skiing and tubing and spends lots of time with her family, including her two pet hamsters, "Marshmellow" and "Fluffy."
