Students are given an opportunity to nominate a teacher who has been influential during their academic career. Turner has also received an award from the Optimist Club for her work with the Lakeview Student Council. She was nominated for the Herb Kohl Fellowship Award for Teachers in 2010. In 2012 Turner was honored by being recognized by the Janesville Gazette's People Who Matter.

The Delavan-Darien School District has some very dedicated, loving teachers with whom she is proud to be associated. Her classroom is very child-driven, allowing for creativity, self-expression, and attention to children's interests and intellectual needs. Her goal is to help create life-long learners. |
