Wendy Overturf, Ed.D., came to the Delavan-Darien in 2007 as its District Administrator. Prior to that she was the principal at Darien Elementary School. Before coming to the Delavan-Darien School District, she was an Associate Principal in Fort Atkinson. Her 20-plus years of educational experiences include teaching students with special educational needs in Fort Atkinson, Stoughton, as well as in Michigan and Louisiana.

A Wisconsin native, Overturf received her undergraduate degree in Education from UW-Whitewater.  Her Master’s Degree was awarded by Marian University. In 2007, she received her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Edgewood College in Madison. Teaching, learning, and educational excellence are her passions and her goal is to work with the staff and administrators in the district to ensure that educators provide excellent opportunities for all students.

Business Administrator

Carey Bradley came to Delavan-Darien as Business Administrator in 2006. Her primary responsibilities are the operation of the business office and managing support services functions for the district. She holds three degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, the highest being a Master’s in Education. Bradley has worked in education for more than a decade, with most of her experience as a licensed School Business Manager. She has always enjoyed learning and finds many such opportunities in her current role. Bradley is grateful to work for an employer whose mission is to prepare children for the future.

Director of Instruction and Technology

Tracy Deavers is the Director of Instruction and Technology for the Delavan-Darien School District. She came to the district in 1998 as a sixth grade Language Arts Teacher. She is responsible for curriculum, textbooks, resources, hardware, software, the Bilingual Program, the Gifted and Talented Program and district assessments. Prior to 1998, she was a sixth grade Language Arts teacher in Prairie du Chien. Deavers received both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from UW-Oshkosh and her Administration Degree from UW-Madison. 

In her free time, she enjoys the watching the Wisconsin Badgers sports teams, reading and spending time with her husband and daughter. Deavers loves working in the district because her role allows her to work with all teachers and impact the education of all children.
Susan Probst

Director of Special Education and Pupil Services
 
Susan Probst came to the Delavan-Darien School District in January 2009 as the Director of Special Education and Pupil Services. She has been in education for 25 years, working most of that time in special education. Her experiences include elementary, middle, and secondary levels in both the public and residential settings. Probst earned her Master’s of Special Education at Kansas University, specializing in the area of emotional and behavioral disorders. She is also a certified Learning Strategies trainer. Her goal is to assist in strengthening the continuum of services offered to students who have been identified with disabilities.

Coordinator for Student Achievement and Assessment

Janet Green has been with the Delavan-Darien School District since 2007. She was Principal at Turtle Creek Elementary School and subsequently moved into the role of District Coordinator for Student Achievement and Assessment. Green manages the district’s Virtual Program, which targets students who struggle in the traditional “brick and mortar” learning environment. Students in the Virtual Program are able to receive their education through asynchronous learning (anytime, any place learning) via the Internet. Additionally, Green is responsible for the district’s Preschool Community Collaboration Council and providing data analysis to support program enhancements in all schools. 

Green has been a teacher and principal at several other Wisconsin and Illinois schools prior to her arrival at Delavan-Darien. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from UW-Whitewater and a Master’s in Educational Administration and Supervision from Roosevelt University in Chicago.
 
Green’s educational philosophy has always been about serving and assisting those students who are less fortunate or those who don’t have a strong support network. She truly loves working with the students and is proud to help provide educational opportunities for students who may not have succeeded along traditional educational pathways.

Administrative Assistant - Director of Special Education and Pupil Services

Kathy Adams is the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Special Education/Pupil Services for the Delavan-Darien School District. She came to the district in 2003 after working in various office positions as well as being a stay-at-home mom when her children were young. Adams is a 1980 graduate of Williams Bay High School and has lived in several locations in the U.S. and Europe, but happily moved back 1992. She loves spending time with her family, cooking, reading, hiking and biking. Adams also enjoys the contact she has with the community when taking phone calls and greeting visitors to the Administration Center.

Administrative Assistant - Human Resources

Sheryl Anderson is the Human Resources Administrative Assistant for the Delavan-Darien School District. She came to the district in June 2005 and is the first person to hold the position, which was designed to develop and administer human resource activities for the district. Anderson is a 1988 graduate of Delavan-Darien High School. She received an Associate Degree in Accounting in 1992 and an Associate Degree in Supervisory Management in 2000 from Gateway Technical College in Elkhorn. Prior to coming to the district, she worked for Delavan’s Pentair Corporation in the Human Resource Department. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters and supporting 4H. Anderson finds great satisfaction in assisting the employees of the district so that they can concentrate on making a difference for the students.

Library Media Coordinator

Peggy Fleck is the District Library Media Coordinator for all five schools in the district. Fleck came to the school district in 1999. Prior to that she was the Director at Aram Public Library. She started her career in the district working at both Darien and Wileman in their school libraries. She has also been a third and fourth grade teacher in the district. In 2008, she became the District Media Coordinator.

A Delavan resident, Fleck received her undergraduate degree in Education 1-8/Public Library Certification from UW-Whitewater in 1994. She completed her Master’s in Education with an emphasis in Information/Technology in 2000 from UW-Whitewater. She has been very involved in the YAAYS program through Yerkes Observatory and the University of Illinois. She has received the “Teacher of the Year” award from Walmart and was the 2008 Werbel Award recipient. She believes all children deserve a strong education and that education is a lifetime experience.

Coordinator of School-Community Relations

Mike Heine is the Coordinator of School-Community Relations for the Delavan-Darien School District. He came to Delavan-Darien in October 2009 and is the first person to hold the position, which is designed to increase understanding of the district in the community. Heine is a 1998 graduate of Delavan-Darien High School and was a student in the district since fourth grade. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Processes/Public Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 2002. He has worked as a professional newspaper reporter for the Delavan Enterprise, The Janesville Gazette, and The Week newspapers. He previously worked as the UW-Green Bay News and Media Relations Coordinator. Heine has found promoting educational institutions a satisfying career, and he’s happy to be promoting his home school district.

Administrative Assistant - Superintendent
 
Karen Logterman is the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent for the Delavan-Darien School District. She came to the district in May 1997. Logterman is a 1976 graduate of Delavan-Darien High School. Prior to coming to the district, she worked for Delavan’s Sta-Rite Corporation for 19 years in the International Division working on documentation for shipments overseas. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children and scrapbooking. She enjoys working with administrators and staff and continues to learn everyday on the job.

Administrative Assistant - Business Services
 
Sherry Meinen, Business Services – Administrative Assistant, has been an employee of the Delavan-Darien School District for 39 years. She is a 1969 graduate of Delavan-Darien High School. During her senior year of high school she worked afternoons in the School Administration office through the Work Study Program. After graduating high school she stayed with the school district in the capacity of bookkeeping clerk for 10 years, then became the Superintendent’s secretary for 16 years and for the last 13years has been back in the accounting/payroll department. She enjoys reading, walking and spending time with family.

ESP - Bookkeeper
 
Barb Pawlowski is an ESP-Bookkeeper for the Delavan-Darien School District, starting in November 2004. She is a 1971 graduate of Badger High School and has worked in Lake Geneva and Delavan since, gaining experience in accounting functions in a hands-on form. She is responsible for paying all invoices for the district, handling the payroll for the approximately 375 employees of the district, as well as various bookkeeping and payroll functions. She is also involved in continuing education on the software program used in the district and is available to assist any employee with the use of the software system. Much of her free time is devoted to her church from singing in choir and Praise Band to serving on various committees of the church. She has made her home in Delavan with her husband since 2002 and is proud of being a small part of the great things taking place at the Delavan-Darien School District.
